It's difficult for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have long been mastered.

This is the squad that has won seven Cricket World Cups, along with six more T20 titles, and earlier maintained 1,294 days without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, targeted by the achievement hunters, are what's still available for a squad that has accomplished all there is.

That it took as late as Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase exceeding 300, reclaiming their record for the highest in the women's 50-over format, is, honestly, a tribute to the bowlers that have worn canary yellow over the last half-century.

It is hard for their batters to maintain a record if never given the possibility.

Ultimately, the consequence of Australia giving up 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy being given a platform to create her latest masterpiece.

Originally famous as the young family member of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her nation couldn't capture either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups from the prior year and has seen it all through 15 championship-filled years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup happened three months after her first appearance and seven global championships have resulted from 10 attempts across formats.

The tough gloveman was also there in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India momentarily interrupted the successful run.

That loss "pushed us to rethink our standards," Healy commented earlier.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the title decider and was named player of the tournament. She guaranteed her country would not fail again.

The question of whether this recent magnificent innings topped that previous effort remains open for discussion.

Certain people claim the argument supporting final game tension. Some might respond with the test that comes when facing a record target and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's definite is this century was much more difficult to see coming.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 occurred when she topped the run-scoring charts, but this knock followed six innings in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"If you've observed me in training, it's been a challenging time because it seemed I've had no rhythm completely," commented Healy.

"However when you take the field, your fighting spirit take over and you just lock into the competition."

Healy's competitive nature has consistently been her key asset - and an invaluable trait in taking over from iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, dismissed by the young fast bowler in every game, but here that only provided Healy's inspiration.

A single came off the bowler's initial ball and after that the batsman was in motion.

"A chance to take the field and lock in a contest with her and merely enjoy the moment in that regard, somewhat inspired me," commented Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 deliveries - her swiftest at the global tournament - and her ton in 84 balls as she punished short deliveries, striking 21 boundaries and three sixes.

When she was dismissed her side needed 66 more at a run-a-ball - an achievable target now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"To chase 330 is uncharted waters so I'm pleased we have the assurance to accomplish that now," added Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to do it another time but, should it happen, we believe we can succeed."

These statements will be the last Australia's opponents at this championship should hear.

During the last week a sense they will win from any position has grown stronger - this victory succeeding victory over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite sitting at 76-7 at one stage.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a meeting with old rivals England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final berth may probably be guaranteed.

It was at that stage they exited last year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a game Healy couldn't play because of damaged tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the first time at a major tournament.

So great is her will, she subsequently stated she wished she had played through the pain.

However although she afterwards confessed those physical issues have delayed consideration of ending her career, this World Cup is likely to be her concluding event as leader in ODI cricket and she is still to achieve a global event as leader.

Success in India would take her to the summit of her last major obstacle.
