In a unexpected collaboration that challenges conventional expectations, Ubisoft has announced an digital partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Questline Disclosed

According to the authorized announcement, "A mysterious encounter draws protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where rumors of prohibited ceremonies and monstrous changes resonate through the darkness." The storyline presents a "unusually attired woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her ally from a secret cult.

The questline focuses on "bizarre trials and a monstrous foe" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Familiar Settings and Changes

The preview highlights the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer ends with a powerful scene showing a character, presumably the captive, changing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Items and Bonus Features

Players who successfully complete the adventure will acquire an special katana alongside multiple artifacts concealed throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
