A Pair of Detentions Following London Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
This incident caused the partial shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

Two more people have been arrested related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which 21 people sustained injuries by a substance believed to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.

A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both are still being held, authorities confirmed.

The arrests come after a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, two women were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was among the injured during the incident. Five people went to hospital for medical care and have since been discharged.

Officers arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the location. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were called at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of individuals injured by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.

The attack - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not considered an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility briefly.
